Artist Terms

You're independent, and your prices are yours

You're an independent professional, not an employee, agent, or partner of Sheerly by Shah. You set your own prices, hours, cancellation window, and how you like to work. We never set a floor or a ceiling on what you charge, and we don't change your prices for you. Anything you list should be a price you're happy to honour — members see it before they book, and that's the price we take payment for.

Prices are shown in the currency on your profile and include any local taxes you're required to charge. You're responsible for your own taxes, licences, and insurance.

What Sheerly keeps

Our commission is taken from the payment at checkout — we never invoice you separately and we never hold your earnings.

  • Academy content — classes and monthly artist passes: 10%.
  • Sessions and second opinions booked through the directory — 20% on the free plan, 10% on Pro.
  • Clients you bring yourself through your own share link: nothing.

If we ever change these rates, we'll tell you at least 30 days beforehand and the new rate only applies to bookings made after that date.

How you get paid

Payments split at checkout through Stripe. Your share goes to your own connected payout account on Stripe's usual schedule — typically a couple of business days — and only our commission comes to us. Your bank details stay with Stripe; we never see or store them. You'll need to finish Stripe's identity checks before your first payout.

Deposits, cancellations, and refunds

You choose whether to take a deposit and how much (0–50%), and you set your own cancellation window. We show both to the member before they confirm. If a member cancels inside your window, your rule applies.

Second opinions have a five-day delivery window. If a verdict isn't delivered in time, the member is refunded automatically and the related earning is reversed. Where a payment is refunded or disputed, any commission we took is reversed too, so you're never out of pocket on our side.

Verification and badges

Badges are about trust, not skill. Sheerly doesn't certify or train artists — if you're a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, or hold an equivalent credential, you can submit it and we'll review it. A licence on file earns a verified badge; a licence we can also confirm against the issuing body earns the registry-confirmed badge. Licence documents are deleted as soon as a check completes.

You confirm that anything you submit is genuinely yours and currently valid. If a credential lapses, is withdrawn, or turns out to be inaccurate, we'll remove the badge and pause paid second opinions.

Your profile and your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload — photos, classes, and writing. You give us permission to show it on Sheerly and in the places we promote Sheerly, for as long as it's on your profile. Only upload work you have the right to share, and get consent from anyone recognisable in a photo. Remove something and we'll stop showing it, though we may keep copies for members who already bought access to a class.

Standards, and when a listing comes down

Keep your listing accurate, reply to members within a reasonable time, and treat everyone kindly. We may take a profile down, pause bookings, or remove a badge when a listing is inaccurate, when payments or credentials can't be verified, or when someone's safety is at stake. Wherever we can we'll talk to you first. You can unpublish or close your studio at any time — you'll still be paid for anything already delivered, and you'll need to honour bookings already taken or refund them.

Anything here you'd like explained, just message us from your studio and we'll answer properly. These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
