Color Lab is a styling studio, not a clinic, a lab or a guarantee. Everything below is here so you always know exactly what our tools can and can't do for you — in plain words, with nothing hidden in the small print.

Style guidance, not professional advice

Your season, your palettes, your shade matches and every note we write are subjective style guidance created with the help of AI. They are not medical, dermatological, cosmetic, dietary, psychological or professional advice, and they are never a diagnosis. If something about your skin, hair or health concerns you, please speak with a qualified professional — we'd always rather you did.

Skin, beauty and patch testing

The Glow Preview shows an illustrative idea of how skin might look with consistent care. It is an artistic simulation, not a prediction, a clinical result or a before-and-after claim, and results vary from person to person. Always read a product's own label and ingredient list, patch-test anything new on a small area first, and stop using a product if you notice irritation. Skincare and makeup suggestions are not a substitute for advice from a dermatologist, esthetician or doctor, and they are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any condition. If you are pregnant, nursing, on prescription treatments or have sensitive or reactive skin, check with your clinician before changing a routine.

Camera, mirrors and recordings

The live drape and metal mirrors use your device camera in your browser to show fabric and jewellery next to your face. The live view is processed on your device; nothing from the mirror is uploaded or stored unless you choose to save or record a clip, and a recording is saved to your private account area only when you ask for it. We do not use face recognition, we do not build a faceprint or any biometric identifier, and we never use your camera to identify you. You can stop the camera at any time, and every camera tool has an upload-a-photo alternative. Please only film in a place where you're happy to be filmed, and don't record other people without their say-so.

Photos of other people

Only upload photos of yourself, or of someone who has told you it's okay — including in duo, bridal and wardrobe tools. If a photo shows a child, the parent or guardian must be the one uploading it.

Color on screens

Screens, lighting, cameras and print all shift color. Swatches, drape shades, shop-check verdicts and product renders are close approximations, not exact color matches, and fabric or makeup in real life may look different from what you see here. When a purchase depends on an exact shade, please check the item in daylight or against the seller's own swatch before deciding.

Products, brands and shopping links

Where we suggest products, we tell you what we think and why. Product names, brands and images belong to their owners and are used to identify the item only — a mention isn't an endorsement by that brand, or by them of us. Prices, stock and shipping are set by the seller and can change at any time. Sheerly products are sold through our own store under that store's terms; anything you buy elsewhere is between you and that retailer. The savings ledger is a rough, self-reported estimate of purchases you chose to skip — it's a motivational tally, not financial advice or an accounting record.

Artists are independent professionals

Verified artists on Color Lab run their own businesses. They are not our employees or agents, and we don't supervise their work, set their opinions or guarantee their results. Our verification badge means we reviewed the licence or credential documents an artist gave us and they looked in order on the date we checked — it isn't a licence, an accreditation, an insurance policy or a promise about the quality of any session. Please check an artist's own credentials and terms for anything that matters to you. Second opinions and classes reflect that artist's personal view, which may differ from your AI result or from another artist.

Classes and education

Academy classes are for learning and inspiration. They are not a qualification, a certification or licensing of any kind, and finishing one doesn't authorise you to practise anywhere that requires a licence. Techniques you learn are performed at your own risk — follow the laws and hygiene rules where you live.

No promise of results or earnings

We can't promise a particular season result, a compliment, a booking, a follower, a sale or an income. Anything we show about what artists earn is illustrative and depends entirely on their own pricing, effort and clients. Availability of any tool, feature or artist can change.

Availability, accuracy and third-party services

We work hard to keep Color Lab accurate and available, but tools are provided as they are, AI can be wrong, and services we rely on — payments, storage, AI models, our shop — can have outages outside our control. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
